I understand where the sentiment of having a full-time job may sacrifice the quality of your work comes from. Working itself is mentally draining, and therefore, by the time you get home, you don't have the same time and energy that you may have if you were writing full-time. However, the reality for many writers is that we do need a full-time job to supplement the writing.
